WEB DESIGN & STRATEGY FOR GENTLE LEADERS
Websites that feel like home
Ethical, soulful design that holds your vision with beauty and care, so you can feel rooted, seen, and supported every time someone lands on your site.
Too often, websites are built for speed or trends, leaving business owners with something that looks good on the surface but doesn’t support them long-term.
Ethical web design means:
-
No hidden costs or confusing tech traps
-
Structures that are sustainable, maintainable, and kind to your nervous system
-
A collaborative process that honors your voice, values, and vision
Because your website should feel like a trusted companion, not a burden.

Find the confidence
to proudly share your work
The most common thing I hear from clients after we’ve worked together is some version of the same thing: I finally feel confident sharing my work.
Before, they were often holding back, hesitating to put their link in their bio, apologising for their site before anyone had even seen it, avoiding marketing because they didn’t feel like they had something worth showing. A website that doesn’t feel like you creates a quiet kind of shame that ripples out into everything.
I love translating my client’s unique vision and strengths into a visual language that is authentic, beautiful and memorable. When you have a clear sense of who you are in your work and you have a space to express that, you no longer feel like you have to compete with everyone else – that’s the magic of good web design.
That’s what a good website actually does. It doesn’t just look nice, it gives you somewhere to stand, an online home that you’ll be proud to show.

When your website finally feels like you,
sharing it stops feeling scary
Hi, I’m Yarrow.
I’m a web designer, tech consultant and business mentor based on the east coast of Scotland. I’ve been building websites for values-led businesses since 2015 and what I’ve learned in that time is that the technical side and the personal side are never really separate. A website that works is one that was built with a genuine understanding of who you are, what you do, and who you’re trying to reach.
I came to web design through a lifelong love of technology. I was given my first Atari computer at five, spent my teenage years on MySpace, worked in startups in my twenties, and somewhere along the way discovered a real instinct for making things work online. What surprised me was how much it could matter to people, how a well-built site could give someone their time back, or make them feel genuinely proud of the work they do in the world.
That belief was only deepened by a decision I made in 2020: leaving social media for good. Living alone through lockdowns, the little screen in my hands had become the only way to connect with others, which also meant endless doomscrolling, screen fatigue, and a growing sense that this wasn’t sustainable. I took the leap anyway, trusting that people would still find their way to me. And they did. My website became what it always should have been: a place to express myself freely through long-form content, where I never have to compete with a newsfeed for someone’s attention. That experience is a big part of why I believe so strongly in the website as your most important digital home.
I specialise in WordPress and Squarespace for creatives, herbalists, coaches, guides, makers, and service providers. I’m also neurodivergent and queer, and I bring that perspective into how I design – building sites that are accessible, considered, and built to last rather than to impress for a season.

FAQs
What is eco-friendly web design and why does it matter?
Unfortunately the internet is one of the world’s largest polluters – it’s estimated that today’s data servers account for about 2% of carbon emissions, which is comparable to the airline industry. There are many things we can do to make our websites more eco-friendly – for example choosing a carbon neutral host, writing clear and SEO friendly copy, optimising our sites for speed & efficiency and minimizing our usage of videos, large images or animations. By the way, many of these things will also make your website more accessible, which is a win-win.
When we work together I’ll make sure that your site is as eco-friendly as possible, without compromising on design & functionality.
Will the site be mobile friendly?
Of course! All the websites I create are designed to look great on any kind of device – desktop, tablet or phone. This is really important because more than half of all web traffic comes from mobile devices, so we need to make sure your message comes across in a way that is beautiful, but also easy to navigate and accessible.
I will share some practical ideas with you and also test the site on multiple devices before we launch.
In addition I use the Userway plug-in (you can notice it at the bottom right of my websites) as a standard to help make your website more accessible.
What is your turnaround time?
Good question! I’ve been designing WordPress sites for small business owners for over eight years now and know Divi, the theme I am using, inside out. It’s a great tool that makes a lot of things easier.
Specialising in making websites for artists, makers and service providers, having beautifully streamlined project management systems & working with deep focus on one project at a time are other factors that allow me to offer faster turnaround times and more affordable prices. Usually I can deliver a custom website in 3-4 weeks.
Having said that, it’s really important that you have your copy, wishes (and headshots) ready to go before I start working on your site and that you’re able to give me feedback on the first draft within a few days. If you’re unsure or need support around this, I am always happy to chat.
Which systems do you use to build your websites?
I specialise in working with WordPress and the Divi theme. Divi is a dream to work with and the biggest WordPress theme on the market. It offers an infinite amount of design freedom, integrates well with other systems and is always being developed. Most of my clients find it easy to handle and manage to update and edit their site as needed themselves.
Having said that, if you’re keen on a Squarespace site I am happy to make that happen for you too!
Can I pay in instalments?
I do offer instalment plants if you book well ahead of time. All payments need to be completed before your website goes live.
Will I be able to edit my site in the future?
Yes, absolutely! You’ll receive screen recorded videos as how to guides to keep and you’ll also have two/four weeks of email support (depending on your package). Tweaking your copy, swapping an image or even creating new pages is something you’ll be able to do yourself if you want to.
