Websites That Feel Like Home
Ethical, soulful design that holds your vision with beauty and care, so you can feel rooted, seen, and supported every time someone lands on your site.
Too often, websites are built for speed or trends, leaving business owners with something that looks good on the surface but doesn’t support them long-term.
Ethical web design means:
-
No hidden costs or confusing tech traps
-
Structures that are sustainable, maintainable, and kind to your nervous system
-
A collaborative process that honors your voice, values, and vision
Because your website should feel like a trusted companion, not a burden.

I love translating my client’s unique vision and strengths into a visual language that is authentic, beautiful and memorable. When you have a clear sense of who you are in your work and you have a space to express that, you no longer feel like you have to compete with everyone else – that’s the magic of good web design.
If you’re tired of fumbling around with Canva or wasting precious time and energy with DIY solutions that don’t feel quite right, I would love to support you.
Yarrow was such a joy to work with. They were very clear from the start in what they were doing and told me what would happen step by step. This made the entire process very stress free and less daunting.
I felt they really understood what I wanted from my website and then designed it beautifully to represent what I do. I have had a lot of positive feedback from the public since. And I love how my website really feels like my home in the online space now.
Thank you Yarrow for your beautiful work!

How people feel matters
One of the first questions I ask my clients is this – how do you want people to feel when they come to your website?
I love creating online spaces that are calm, inviting and a little playful. We all spend a lot of time on screens and I love the deep sigh I can hear when people arrive somewhere they feel seen, where they can rest their eyes on something beautiful.
In this kind of environment it’s easier to make aligned decision and trust that something is right for you or not. There is no need to be pushy or manipulative – you simply make an honest offer by combining clear messaging with visuals that reflect who you are.
The online home of your dreams can open doors
that you might have felt too shy to approach in the past.
Hi, I’m Yarrow.
I’ve made websites since I was a teenager in the early noughties (remember Myspace?) and have been running my heartfelt web design studio since 2015. Creating beautiful and unique websites that reflect my client’s values and are easy to manage has always been at the heart of what I do.
I love branding and web design because it truly is the gateway to the world
we’re now living in – if done right, your online home tells your story,
connects you with the right people who would love to work with you
and creates a space for you to grow.
Having a website that does all this and more has allowed me to work with my dream clients, build a livelihood on my own terms and leave social media. This is something that in my twenties I could have only dreamed about. These days, a steady stream of beautiful people lands right here every day to listen to my podcast, receive small business inspiration and work with me.
I had always known that I love the creative, community-oriented, generative nature of DIY media. However, the crucial importance of my website as my digital home really became crystal clear to me when I left social media for good in 2020. Living alone through lockdowns meant that the little screen in my hands was often the only way to connect with others, which unfortunately also led to endless doomscrolling, much screen fatigue and many headaches. I knew this wasn’t sustainable and (after some deliberation!) I felt confident about taking the leap because I trusted people would still come and find me here. My website is, unlike social media, a place in which I can express myself freely through long-form content. And, better still, I never have to compete with a newsfeed for someone’s attention.
I work with people who love social media, those who feel ambivalent and those who just don’t want to have anything to do with it at all – everyone is welcome here. What I’m really passionate about is creating websites that will serve you and your business in a way that is empowering and has longevity.

FAQs
What is eco-friendly web design and why does it matter?
Unfortunately the internet is one of the world’s largest polluters – it’s estimated that today’s data servers account for about 2% of carbon emissions, which is comparable to the airline industry. There are many things we can do to make our websites more eco-friendly – for example choosing a carbon neutral host, writing clear and SEO friendly copy, optimising our sites for speed & efficiency and minimizing our usage of videos, large images or animations. By the way, many of these things will also make your website more accessible, which is a win-win.
When we work together I’ll make sure that your site is as eco-friendly as possible, without compromising on design & functionality.
Will the site be mobile friendly?
Of course! All the websites I create are designed to look great on any kind of device – desktop, tablet or phone. This is really important because more than half of all web traffic comes from mobile devices, so we need to make sure your message comes across in a way that is beautiful, but also easy to navigate and accessible.
I will share some practical ideas with you and also test the site on multiple devices before we launch.
In addition I use the Userway plug-in (you can notice it at the bottom right of my websites) as a standard to help make your website more accessible.
What is your turnaround time?
Good question! I’ve been designing WordPress sites for small business owners for over eight years now and know Divi, the theme I am using, inside out. It’s a great tool that makes a lot of things easier.
Specialising in making websites for artists, makers and service providers, having beautifully streamlined project management systems & working with deep focus on one project at a time are other factors that allow me to offer faster turnaround times and more affordable prices. Usually I can deliver a custom website in 3-4 weeks.
Having said that, it’s really important that you have your copy, wishes (and headshots) ready to go before I start working on your site and that you’re able to give me feedback on the first draft within a few days. If you’re unsure or need support around this, I am always happy to chat.
Which systems do you use to build your websites?
I specialise in working with WordPress and the Divi theme. Divi is a dream to work with and the biggest WordPress theme on the market. It offers an infinite amount of design freedom, integrates well with other systems and is always being developed. Most of my clients find it easy to handle and manage to update and edit their site as needed themselves.
Having said that, if you’re keen on a Squarespace site I am happy to make that happen for you too!
Can I pay in instalments?
I do offer instalment plants if you book well ahead of time. All payments need to be completed before your website goes live.
Will I be able to edit my site in the future?
Yes, absolutely! You’ll receive screen recorded videos as how to guides to keep and you’ll also have two/four weeks of email support (depending on your package). Tweaking your copy, swapping an image or even creating new pages is something you’ll be able to do yourself if you want to.
